David Frost was born in New South Wales on 28 January 1968. He enlisted in the Army on 30 June 1985 and was allocated to the Royal Australian Infantry. He underwent SAS selection in 1992 and was posted to SASR on 21 August 1992. David came from 2/4th Battalion Royal Australian Regiment with the rank of Corporal but reverted to the rank of Trooper on posting to SASR. David died on 12 June 1996 when two Black Hawk helicopters crashed at the High Range training area near Townsville in Queensland. David’s next-of-kin at the time of his death was his sister.
