CPL ANDREW CONSTANTINIDIS

Andrew Constantinidis was born in Victoria on 18 June 1962. He enlisted in the Army Reserve on 18 January 1986 and was allocated to the Royal Australian Signals. He elected to serve on full time duty and was posted to SASR on 9 March 1990 to undergo SAS selection. After successful selection he was enlisted into the Australian Regular Army and was transferred to the Royal Australian Infantry. Andrew came from 1 Commando Regiment with the rank of Lance Corporal but reverted to the rank of Trooper on posting to SASR. Andrew died on 12 June 1996 when two Black Hawk helicopters crashed at the High Range training area near Townsville in Queensland. Andrew’s next-of-kin at the time of his death was his wife.
